The girls have just returned from a fantastic week of music, drams and craic at the Shetland Folk Festival. The Dochas girls were delighted to be joined by Martin O’Neill on bodhran for the duration of the festival, and enjoyed great gigs at the Legion, Mooney’s Wake, the Clickimin Centre and the Shetland Hotel with top bands from around the world. The band was disappointed not to get to Fair Isle on the Friday (due to bad weather) but hope to get oot there yet!
Huge thanks to everyone who bought CDs, and who looked after us all week - especially Gordon and Joyce Reid, Anna Mary Leask and all the Geldard family. Big thanks also to Eddie and Michael who ferried us around and generally kept us in order all week, and Davy Henderson who invited the band up North. All went well, except the part where we arrived back in Aberdeen Airport to find Kathleen’s car had a flat tyre…..
Q. How many Dochas girls does it take to change a tyre?
A. None - we found a nice man at the airport car park to do it! (if you see this - cheers!)
