Austrian Tour Diary
Guten tag!
Two weeks in and we are still alive…no frostbite yet! The tour has been great so far. Ten gigs done and five to go. We have driven the length and breadth of Austria - we have seen the Alps, the Danube and sampled copious pints of local Austrian beer. We started off our tour with a gig in St Polten, where we met up with Last Nights Fun, the other band on the tour. After a few gigs, we enjoyed some time off before hitting the road again and heading East to Innsbruck, with some amazing scenery on the way.During the second week of the tour, our brand new CD arrived, fresh from the printers in Austria. It’s called An Darna Umhail or The Second Glance, and it has been received really well. It’s also our first tour abroad with Julie’s solo album, mar a tha mo chridhe or as my heart is, which is also selling well (we hope to have sold most of them by the time we reach Vienna so we can fill our suitcases with shopping…!)
One of the days we ventured into Germany during a long drive, and we also got the chance to stop in at Swarovski’s Crystal World centre (bad move, the girls are all broke now).
Following a great gig in Igel Folk Club in Waidhofen, Dochas took over the venue and indeed the DJ box aswell (highlights included DJ Reid spinning some Mylo). That was the Night of the Great Schnapps Experience…the story ends with Carol-Anne and Julie getting the pipes out at 3am at minus 10 degrees on our retreat home, with Jenna and Eilidh following doing a Highland Fling. If you heard the singing, it was kathleen…do you love an apple, do you love a pear…hic.
Our CD sales increased during the five days we had the pleasure of Ned’s CD Store - seller extraordinaire!!

Austrian Tour Diary
Days 1-3.
Our Austrian tour has got off to a good start and we’ve enjoyed a good couple of gigs so far in St. Polten and Innsbruck. Also on the tour is English trio “Last Nights Fun”. We’ll update this diary over the course of the tour but here’s a few pics from the tour so far. As you can probably tell from the amount of layers we’re wearing it’s very cold (-23 degrees!!!!)
