WINTER NEWS

AWARDS
The band are delighted with the acheivements of Julie and Jenna last weekend in this years Scottish Traditional Music awards. Julie was the winner of the ‘ Gaelic singer of the year’ award and Jenna received the ‘Best up and coming soloist’ award. Unfortunately we couldn’t all be in Edinburgh on Saturday night for the ceremony but those that were there had a great night. However, some of us that didn’t make it were lucky enough to hear a live broadcast of ‘Thoir mo Shoraidh’ from the Queen’s Hall at 2am! Cheers girls! Well done to Simon and all at Footstompin for making the night another success.

The band are also delighted for Julie as she has been nominated for a Horizon Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards! This award is one which recognises the finest emerging artists in the folk scene. The awards ceremony will take place in London on February 6th. Fingers crossed!!

UP AND COMING GIGS
The band are delighted to have been asked back to perform at next year’s Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow. Performances will be in The Strathclyde Suite in The Royal Concert Hall on Friday 13th Jan, The Main Auditorium in the Concert Hall on Tuesday 17th Jan for a schools concert and a concert along with Irish band Danu on Friday 27th in the Arches. Dochas will also be playing in the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen on Sat14th January. We will be touring in England in February and have some other dates in the pipeline for later on in the year. We will update the Tour page with these as soon as we have the info.

Best wishes for the Festive season from the all the Band! Hope to see you in the new year.
